Automatic station for reloading MSW is designed to reduce costs in the collection and transportation of waste. Waste is collected by garbage trucks in a certain area, transported to the waste reloading line. On the reloading line from garbage trucks, waste is poured from the ramp into the hopper of a powerful press with further compaction into containers. After filling, the container is automatically disconnected from the press, moved along the rails and an empty container moves to its place, automatically joins the press. The transshipment line can be installed from 3 or more containers. Filled containers are picked up by road and transported to a landfill or other place for waste disposal.

By the type of equipment used, MSW reloading stations (or waste transfer stations - MPS) are divided into mechanical, semi - automatic and automatic. The design of a mechanical MPS is the simplest. The station is a site for the collection of MSW, where waste is unloaded, pre - sorted with the release of bulky waste, cardboard, film. Then MSW is loaded into the press compactor using a front loader. The minimum set of equipment consists of a press, containers and a loader. The advantages of a mechanical MPS include ease of use and minimal cost.
The MSO reloading station can only consist of a press compactor with an automobile overpass. Garbage trucks enter the overpass and unload the garbage into the hopper, from where the waste is fed to the hopper press. This technological scheme is acceptable only if there are no bulky items in the garbage that can create a blockage in the loading channel of the compactor.
On an automatic MPS, containers are automatically attached to the press. After filling in the same way, they are detached and then moved on mobile platforms. The waste can be fed into the press either by means of a feeding conveyor or by means of a ramp. This solution is the optimal means for transporting waste over long distances, both for further processing and for disposal.
