Ferrosilicium — ferroalloy. The main components — iron and silicon. Process of production of ferrosilicium is based on silicon dioxide restoration. Ferrosilicium is used as the deoxidating and alloying additives for smelting electrotechnical, spring and spring, corrosion and heat-resistant staly. Increase of content of silicon in ferrosilicium lowers its density. Silicon increases the hardness of steel, resistance to a gap, limits of elasticity and fluidity, increases resistance to oxidation, reduces losses of the electric power. 45% ferrosilicium has density of 5,0 G / kub.sm, and 75% — Z,5 of / kub.sm. Temperatures of melting of 45% - and 75% ferrosilicium are respectively equal 1330 … 1220 and 1300 … 1330 °C. Ferrosilicium is received in arc ferroalloy furnaces by restoration by silicon coke carbon from quartzite.
