Use of gallium in the form of chemical compounds like GaAs is most known, to GaP, GaSb possessing semiconductor properties. They can be applied in high-temperature rectifiers and transistors, solar batteries and other devices where the photo cell in the locking layer, and also in receivers of infrared radiation can be used. Gallium can be used for production of the optical mirrors differing in the high reflecting ability. An aluminum alloy with gallium is offered instead of mercury as the cathode of the lamps of ultra-violet radiation applied in medicine. Liquid gallium and its alloys is used at production high-temperature (600 – 1300 0C) thermometers and manometers. Use of gallium and its alloys as the liquid heat carrier in power nuclear reactors is also possible.
