The open - type "ladle" inductor for the MIKROSHA - 15 - 8 - VCh induction heater is made of an annealed copper tube with a diameter of 6 mm and a wall thickness of 1 mm. To exclude the closure of the turns between themselves and the part, a stocking made of a silica cord of the ShK - 6 brand is put on the copper tube. The cord is impregnated with fire - resistant paint. The impregnated cord is glued to the copper tube, which improves heat dissipation from the cord to the tube and then to the coolant circulating through the inductor. When making inductors yourself, be sure to insulate the turns. To obtain the maximum power output from the apparatus, the inductance of the finished inductor should be in the range of 0.3 - 0.6 μH.
The "ladle" inductor is intended for heating long thin rods in the middle part, when it is inconvenient to feed the rod into a cylindrical spiral inductor. The internal size of the inductor is 15x20 mm. The diameter of the heated workpieces is up to 13 mm. It should be borne in mind that the efficiency of an open inductor is 50% relative to a standard spiral, due to the unsatisfactory concentration of the magnetic flux. Simply put, a device with such an inductor will give out no more than half the power.
