Description
Tin is a chemical element of silver-white color, soft and plastic metal. It is got from such natural minerals as cassiterite and beds.

Temperature: melting — 231,9 °C; boilings — 2600 °C;

Specific conductivity at 20 °C — 8,69 MSM/m.

The module of elasticity of 55 GPA at 0 °C and 48 GPA at 100 °C
Temporary resistance to a gap — 20 MPas;
Relative lengthening — 80%;
Hardness according to Brinell — 50 MPas;
Molding temperature — 260−300 °C;

Application tin:
1. Tin is used generally as a safe, nontoxical, corrosion-resistant covering in pure form or in alloys with other metals. The main industrial use of tin — in a white tin (tinned iron) for production of a container of foodstuff, in solders for electronics, in house pipelines, in bearing alloys and in coverings from tin and its alloys.
2. The disulfide of SnS2 tin is applied as a part of the paints imitating gilding ("potal"). Artificial radionuclide of tin 119mSn — a gamma radiation source in messbauerovsky spectroscopy.
3. Intermetallic compounds of tin and zirconium possess high temperatures of melting (to 2000 °C) and resistance to oxidation when heating on air and have a number of scopes.
4. Tin is the major alloying component when receiving constructional alloys of the titan.
5. Tin is used also in chemical sources of current as anode material, for example: manganese-tin element, oxide mercury-tin element.
