The Bakhchsarai Hansky palace - one of the most known historical and cultural monuments of the peninsula and the only example of the Crimean Tatar palace architecture in the world. Construction of it of "the city in miniature" has begun in the 16th century on command of the khan Sakhiba of the I Girey. Since then, throughout nearly three centuries, there was residence of ruling dynasty of the Crimean khanate here. Now in rooms of complex the museum of history, culture and art of the Crimean Tatars, and also weapon exhibition is located.
The palace rolls in magnificent garden with large number of fountains. The most known of them - "The Fountain Has got down", that of which A.S. Pushkin in the poem "Bakhchsarai Fountain" has sung. On legend, it has been established as symbol of grief of the khan of the Crimea Girey on the beloved wife of Dilyare poisoned with the artful and envious competitor. The khan wanted that everyone who will visit this place has felt how his heart suffered and cried.
